"After 30 years spent in courtrooms in Texas, ... I am comfortable that SMU's emphasis on how to think as opposed to what to think has been instrumental in procuring justice for a number of deserving clients."

Rules/Regulations

Law students are being trained to enter a profession in which the highest standard of conduct is expected. Consequently, all law students are required to comply with the rules and regulations of the University and the Dedman School of Law. Students should take the time to familiarize themselves with these rules and regulations, which can be found on the links listed below.

Students who have questions or concerns about these rules and regulations, or about the conduct/actions of other students which may violate these rules and regulation, should contact the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs.

All students receive a copy of the Law School Catalog when they begin classes. The requirements contained in the catalog for the year in which students matriculate in the law school are generally the requirements that they must comply with during their time at the law school, except as otherwise specifically determined by the University.
