Academics
The Law School offers a superior academic environment which stimulates intellectual, professional, and personal
development inside the classroom and beyond. When you join the Dedman School of Law, you become part of a great
community of scholars made up of an exceptional faculty and an outstanding student body.
Our faculty members are accomplished scholars as well as dedicated teachers. In addition to their impressive
academic credentials, virtually all of them have had practical experience before entering their teaching careers,
which provides an invaluable link between classroom theory and the reality of legal practice. Our distinguished
visiting professors and
adjunct professors enhance the educational experience of our students and the entire law school community.
Our students come from many backgrounds and bring with them a diverse array of experiences and views;
they are intelligent, inquisitive, and eager to take advantage of the many curricular and
extra-curricular opportunities available here.
The Law School offers an exceptionally rich
curriculum that is continually
expanding to include advanced courses and new courses in emerging areas of law. Although the School is well-known
for its strengths in corporate and commercial law, tax law, litigation, alternative
dispute resolution, and international law, the depth and quality of the curriculum
extends to many specialized interests including intellectual property, internet law,
energy law, and environmental law. The Underwood Law Library, located in the law quad, is a modern and comprehensive research
facility and is equipped with state-of-the-art instructional technology.
Legal education at the Dedman School of Law extends beyond the classroom setting and gives
students many opportunities to represent actual clients through our legal clinics, edit
law journals, and compete in moot court and mock
trial events.
The Dedman School of Law is a vibrant, scholarly community; we invite you to learn more about us.
