Check out each of the Sub-Committee Websites for more information about the
events, how to register for events, and how to volunteer. Here's a quick summary
of each of the events:
Barrister's Ball is the law school's annual spring cocktail
party complete with a live band and casino.
Carnival is the annual fall festival. The Carnival Committee
organizes and runs the games, booths, carnival food and prize raffles.
Follies is the law school's comedic spring performance. Get
involved by submitting scripts and volunteering as an actor or backstage cast
member.
Golf Tournamentis a law school fundraiser benefiting a
worthwhile charity (
Human Rights Initiative). The Golf Tournament is also a great
networking event
that allows students to get to know members of the Dallas legal community and
SMU Faculty.
Mardi Gras is a spring on-campus crawfish boil with carnival
games, poker tournament, and prize raffle.
Race Judicata is a 5K run to benefit the Southwest Transplant
Foundation. This event is paired with Carnival in the fall for a day filled with
fun and excitement.
Social Events Committee was traditionally responsible for
planning Friday night bar reviews, but this year we are expanding our horizons.
The Friday night social is now going to vary from bar reviews and wine nights to
concerts and poker tournaments. Be sure to check out this site and plan on
attending our new events.
Sports Spectacular is a fall and spring sports tournament. We
will have our traditional softball tournament, but this year you get to choose
the second team sport for the event. Cast your vote on the Sports Spectacular
