Prof. Maureen Armour receives distinguished teaching award

(April 2016)  The Willis M. Tate Award was presented to Professor Maureen Armour at the 2016 Hilltop Excellence Awards on Monday, April 18, 2016.  This award honors, and is given by Students' Associations, an outstanding faculty member who has been involved in student life.  Professor Armour is the Co-Director of the Civil Clinic and Associate Professor of Law.

In an email to the entire law campus, Armour said, "Thank you to my students who nominated me and supported me for this distinguishing teaching award.  Due to their unselfish efforts on my behalf I received the “Willis M. Tate Distinguished Teacher Award” from the SMU Student Senate last night at the Hilltop Excellence Awards Ceremony in Hughes Trigg.

"I tell people all the time I have the best job in the world.  I have the privilege of teaching talented, dedicated law students; practicing law with outstanding civil clinic advocates; and making a difference in the lives of the civil clinic’s clients."
