Configuring Your Laptop for the Wireless Network
For those students with laptop computers, wireless networking is available in:
- Florence Hall 1st floor
- Florence Hall 2nd floor
- Florence Hall 3rd floor
- Underwood Classrooms
- Underwood public areas
- Carr Collins 1st floor
- Storey Hall Clinic offices
- Storey Hall SMU Law Review offices
- Storey Hall SBA/BOA offices
Using
industry standard WPA encryption, you can connect to the “dedmanlaw” network with
any properly configured laptop with an 802.11g network card. Network services are
provided by the central ITS, but use a different configuration than those provided
elsewhere on campus. Please be aware that laptops that are not functioning normally or are infected with
malware/spyware/viruses may be blocked from network access.
