Student Organizations and Activities
Student Organizations
Dedman Law students organize and participate in a broad spectrum
of activities that include an international focus. We have
nearly 30 active student organizations
that will capture the interests of our J.D. and graduate law
students whether from the U.S. or abroad. In particular,
the International Law Society (ILS) sponsors a number of
brown-bag lunches, lectures and programs throughout the year.
The ILS also hosts the J.D. Ambassador Program through
which J.D. students help international LL.M. and S.J.D.
students become part of the law school community.
Moot Court Competitions
Each year, Dedman Law students participate in two of
the most prestigious international moot court competitions.
The Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court
Competition, sponsored by the International Law Students Association
and the American Society of International Law, is
held each year in Washington, D.C. Oral arguments for
the William C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration
Moot Court Competition are held each spring in Vienna, Austria.
In the 2007 Vis Competition, a Dedman Law student won
the Martin Domke Award for Best Oralist.
