Bio
Following graduation from Yale Law School, Professor Scafidi served as law clerk to the Honorable Morris S. Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. She also pursued graduate study in legal history at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Chicago. Professor Scafidi has taught at the University of Chicago as a Bigelow Fellow, at Saint Louis University School of Law as an assistant professor, and most recently at the Yale Law School as a visiting lecturer. In addition, she has been a visiting scholar with the Robbins Collection at Boalt Hall, University of California at Berkeley, and with the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia Law School. During the Spring 2006 semester, she will serve as a visiting professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. Professor Scafidi is the author of Who Owns Culture? Appropriation and Authenticity in American Law (2005), as well as law review articles in the areas of intellectual property and history. Her teaching and research fields include property, intellectual property, cultural property, international law, and legal history.
