Innovative employment programs
SMU Dedman Law is known for meeting the needs of our students and graduates with new and innovative programs. We created the Partner to Practice and Test Drive programs during the recession, which helped our students and recent graduates gain legal experience and secure jobs.
In furthering that mission, we launched a comprehensive professional development program for first-year law students - Career Foundations & Professional Development (link to this)
Each year, more than 200 SMU Dedman Law students gain practical experience representing indigent clients in real situations under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney in one of SMU's ten legal clinics and projects. A wide array of corporate, judicial, government, regulatory, and public interest/non-profit externships and provide course credit and give valuable practical experience to our students.
We are excited about the success of our graduates! With __ % of the class of 2014 reporting, __ are employed. Visit our Employment Statistics
