2017 Sovereignty Symposium XXX Awards Cash for Scholarly Writings

DEADLINE:  Submit papers no later than May 1, 2017

The Sovereignty Symposium is the foremost legal gathering on Native American law in the world. It was established to provide a forum in which ideas concerning common legal issues regarding Indian law can be exchanged in a scholarly, non-adversarial environment. In conjunction with the Symposium, our scholarly collection of legal and historical writings is presented to all the participants. Legal libraries all over the United States regularly solicit copies of the publication for their collections.

The 2017 Sovereignty Symposium XXX will be held at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, June 7-8, 2017. You are invited to submit a paper for potential inclusion in the SYMPOSIUM publication.
 
TOPIC
We invite papers on any issue concerning Native American law.
 
AWARDS
Cash awards will be given in the amounts of $1,500, $1,000 and $750 for the best three (3) original and previously unpublished papers included in the Symposium publication.
 
SUBMISSION
Please submit papers no later than May 1, 2017, by e-mail to kyle.shifflett@oscn.netSubmissions will only be accepted in Word or WordPerfect format by e-mail

The paper should be single-spaced and in footnote form. All citations should conform to the latest Edition of The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation.
