2017 US-Mexico Bar Association

DEADLINE: Monday, August 7, 2017, at 23:59 hours (Mexico City time).

The USMBA (US-Mexico Bar Association) invites university students, professors, lawyers and other professionals who are citizens or permanent legal residents residing in Mexico or in the U.S. to write an original article on "Enhancing North American Trade," and include one or more specific proposals to revise NAFTA generally or any particular parts or regulations thereof for the purpose of improving the framework for cross-border trade, explaining how such proposal(s) would be beneficial to the U.S. and/or Mexico.
 
TOPIC EXAMPLES
  • How can trade in North America be improved?
  • What topics should be included in a North American trade agreement?
  • What new industry sectors should be included in North American trade agreement?
  • How can North American trade produce more wealth?
  • How can North American trade benefit more people?
  • How can North American trade be more "fair"?
 
SUBMITTING ARTICLE
Articles must be submitted to the USMBA by email to the following address: USMBAresearchcompetition@outlook.com

The submission deadline is Monday, August 7, 2017, at 23:59 hours (Mexico City time).
 
AWARDS FOR TOP THREE ARTICLES

  • 2nd Place - $2,000 USD, plus automatic registration and 1-year membership in the USMBA, plus 2 tickets for all-access entry to the USMBA's 2017 Annual Conference in San Diego, California.
  • 3rd Place - $1,000 USD, plus automatic registration and 1-year membership in the USMBA, plus 2 tickets for all-access entry to the USMBA's 2017 Annual Conference in San Diego, California.
