2016 Patent Quality Initiative Writing Competition

DEADLINE: No later than November 7, 2016, at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time).

Askeladden has created the 2016 Patent Quality Initiative Writing Competition to promote the issue of patent quality among law students. Competition entries must be an original work about one or more issues related to patent quality. (Download the Patent Quality Intitative Flier.)
Potential topics include:
  • The Impact of Legislation;
  • Changes to the Patent Examination Process for Improving the Quality of Issued Patents;
  • Analysis of Proposed Methods of Measuring Patent Quality, and
  • Importance of Patent Quality for Supporting Innovation and Technological Development
The author of entry awards:
  • First Place - $3,000
  • Second Place - $1,500
Both of the winning articles may be published on the Patently-O Patent Law Journal (www.patentlyo.com/lawjournal) and on Askeladden's website (www.patentqualityinitiative.com).
Entries may be submitted beginning September 5, 2016, at 12:01 a.m. ET and must be received no later than November 7, 2016, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
