The University of Connecticut School of Law established a Student Legal Writing Competition to encourage and reward original student writing on legal issues affecting persons struggling with homelessness, mental illness, addiction, or substance abuse.

Eligibility

Entrants must be enrolled for the 2011-2012 academic year in an ABA-accredited law school in the United States or Canada.

Topic

Papers should be on a legal issue affecting persons struggling with homelessness, mental illness, addiction, or substance abuse.

Awards

  • First Prize - $750
  • Second Prize - $500
  • Third Prize - $250
Winners will be notified by July 16, 2012.

Submission

Entries must be received by 5 p.m. on June 1, 2012.  Register via the Intent to Enter Student Writing Competition form.
