The International Association of LGBT Judges, National LGBT Bar Association Judiciary Division, is sponsoring a writing competition for all law students attending the 2012 Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair.  This is an exciting opportunity for law students to speak directly to members of the United States judiciary.

TOPIC

Students may choose one of the two following topics to write about:
  1. Diversity on the Bench
  2. Judicial Ethics around LGBT Issues

AWARDS

  • One Winning Entry - $1,500 monetary award; and the entry will be posted on the American Judges Association's webpage with excerpts published in their magazine.
  • Two Honorable Mentions - $250
The winner and any recipients of an honorable mention will receive complimentary registration to the 2012 Lavender Law® Conference & Career Fair in Washington, DC.

OTHER INFORMATION

All entries must be submitted electronically in either MS Word or PDF format.  Entrants must not include their name or the name of their school on the competition paper itself.  For more information about rules and regulations, click here
