Prospective Students

We are delighted that you are considering SMU Dedman School of Law for your legal education. We are seeking applicants who will not only contribute to the intellectual environment at Dedman School of Law, but also enrich the community as a whole. We look for students from a variety of backgrounds who are able to bring their unique perspectives to the classroom as well as the courtroom.

Because we understand that a well-rounded student cannot be judged by the “numbers” alone, we provide you with the opportunity to tell us what mere scores cannot. Each application is given careful, individual attention, and we invite you to inform us of your accomplishments both inside and outside of the classroom.

With wonderful additions to the Law School, both physical and intellectual, Dedman School of Law has become an even greater institution at which to study law. The addition of several new faculty members as well as outstanding visiting professors will undoubtedly enhance the superior faculty at Dedman School of Law. Further, a beautiful dining hall and student lounge provide a comfortable and convenient venue for students to dine and socialize on campus.
