AAJ Tournament - Semifinals advancement
On the weekend of March 1, 2010, the SMU Mock Trial team competing in the AAJ tournament this weekend advanced to the Semifinals.

National Championship - National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition
On the weekend of November 14, 2009, the team from SMU consisting of Adam Doupe, Virginia Welch and Ashley Pulliam (coached by K.D. Shull) won the National Entertainment Law Moot Court Competition held at Pepperdine University. In addition to their first place finish overall, the team placed 2nd in the Petitioners Brief competition, Adam Doupe won the best Advocate award and Ashley Pulliam won the Best Advocate award for the final round.
Overall, these were two great national victories for SMU Dedman law students!
Regional Championship - ABA Labor & Employment Trial Competition
On November 14, 2009, coach Eddie Berbarie led his team from SMU, made up of Chris Harding, Chetammia Holmes, Michael Thomas, and Sara Stephens, to the championship at the regional level of the ABA Labor & Employment Trial Competition, defeating a team from Baylor in the final round.
12 teams from our region competed in the competition, including teams from UT, Baylor, University of Houston, Texas Wesleyan, Ole Miss., and Miss. College. Another team from SMU, made up of Samantha Palma, Kimberly Hemingway, Nichole Plagens, and Jessica Greenwood, also had a great showing, making it to the semi-final round. This is the third year in a row that SMU has won the regional level of the competition, and the team will now go on to compete against other regional winners at the national level of the competition, which will be held in Washington, D.C. Both teams that competed helped develop the case theories and arguments, and all eight students should be should be credited with the Regional Championship.
2nd Place Finish at National Championships - ABA Labor & Employment Trial Competition
On January 30 & 31, 2010, SMU Dedman School of Law placed 2nd at the National Championships of the ABA Labor & Employment Law Mock Trial Competition. SMU lost in the finals to Pepperdine on a split ballot. SMU actually beat Pepperdine in the preliminary rounds.
The team was coached by Eddie Berbarie and was composed of Chris Harding, Chetammia Holmes, Michael Thomas, and Sara Stephens.
