Associate Professor Linda Eads has accepted the position as Associate Provost at SMU and will begin her new duties July 1, 2011. Professor Eads is an outstanding scholar, an award-winning teacher, and during this past year she has exhibited remarkable leadership as President of the Faculty Senate. A nationally renowned legal voice, Professor Eads was named to the American Law Institute this past year, and has been recognized as one of Texas’ top lawyers. Professor Eads brings great experience in both the public and private sector, having served as the Deputy Attorney General for Texas.
As Associate Provost, Linda will oversee academic affairs in the Provost’s Office, will serve as the Director of the Hunt Scholars Program, and be a member of the Provost’s Office leadership team. Linda joins Associate Provost Harold W. Stanley, Associate Vice President for Research and Dean of Graduate Studies James Quick, recently named Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management Stephanie Dupaul, Assistant Provost Tony Tillman, and Senior Program Specialist Lisa O’Donnell as members of the leadership team.
