Mike Gruber, a partner at Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail Shank LLP, has been selected to receive the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary's 28th annual Justinian Award honoring dedication to community service. 

The Justinian Award, established in 1982 by the Dallas Lawyers Auxiliary as a first award of its kind in the United States, recognizes an outstanding attorney each year who has shown dedication to volunteer service. Mr. Gruber was selected for his unwavering support of various agencies and causes throughout his 31-years as a Dallas-area lawyer.
 
Mike’s  practice primarily involves business litigation defense.  He has co-authored the two volume treatise “Texas Litigation Plans and Forms.”

Mike has been named as a Texas Super Lawyer in Texas Monthly and Law & Politics magazines (2003-2011). The same publications repeatedly list him as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in Texas and one of the Top 100 Dallas-Fort Worth Lawyers. Additionally, D Magazine has listed him as one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas. He was recently given last year's Award of Excellence by the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.  Recently named to Best Lawyers in America, 2011-2012.
 
He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and went on to obtain his J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law in 1981.
