Generally, all students admitted to the LL.M. program for foreign lawyers or who will be a visiting scholar at the law school must obtain a J-1 or F-1 visa. The visa application process is initiated by the Admissions Office and, depending on a number of factors, can take several months. Inquiries about the visa process may be directed to lawadmit@smu.edu.
